Mrs. Bernice Ping, 84, 2015 E. 10th, formerly of 1122 Jackson, died Tuesday, June 11, at a Topeka nursing home.
She was born Jan. 3, 1901, at Millersburg, Ohio, the daughter of Bigham and Elizabeth Finney Uhl. She spent most of her life in Topeka.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nadine Mitchell, Delia; two sons, Ernest Kratina Sr., and Donald Pritchett, both of Topeka; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Mongold and Mrs. Jeanette Hardee, both of Topeka, and Mrs. Jenny Poole, Forsyth, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Silver Lake Cemetery. Mrs. Ping will lie in state until 9 a.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Mortuary where relatives and friends will meet from 7 until 8 p.m. today.
