  		Anniversary- Queen, Creed and Hallie 2 Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Queen will be honored guests at an open house May 16 at the Grove Community Hall in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. The open house hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and guests will be received by their children. No invitations are being issued but friends and relatives are asked to call. The couple requests that no gifts be presented. Mr. and Mrs. Queen were married May 15, 1915 at Caldonia, Missouri, and have lived in the Grove community for 31 years. Mr. Queen was section foreman for the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years until he retired eight years ago. Mr. and Mrs.; Queen are the parents of seven children, Mrs. Geraldine Edwards, Junction City; Mrs. Ruth Blush, Silver Lake; Mrs. Imogene Reese, Tecumseh; Mrs. Doris Anderson, Topeka; Calvin Queen, Lakewood, California; Donald Queen, Silver Lake and Bill Queen, Silver Lake. There are 13 grandchildren.

  Obituary- Queen, Marion Marion W. Queen Marion W. (Joe) Queen, 39, a former Silver Lake resident, died December 30 at Tiffin, Ohio. He was born at Caledonia, Mo., and lived at Silver Lake before moving to Ohio 10 years ago. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith Queen and a son, Larry Joe, both of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Queen of Silver Lake; three brothers, Calvin Queen and Billie Joe Queen, both of Silver Lake and Donald Queen of Rossville and four sisters, Mrs. Frances Edwards of Junction City, Mrs. Ruth Blush of Lawrence, Mrs. Virgil Reese of Tecumseh and Miss Doris Queen of Silver Lake.
