    Obituary- Rankin, Floyd
    Obituary- Rankin, Floyd
    FLOYD W. RANKIN
This community was saddened again Saturday when the news came of the sudden and totally unexpected death of Floyd Rankin, of 818 West First street, Topeka, whose death occurred about noon Saturday in a Topeka hospital. Mr. Rankin became ill while at the supply station of the Penn Lubricating Co., with whom he was employed. He had a sinking spell early in the forenoon and after being revived enough to be removed was rushed to a hospital in an ambulance. He was seized with a second attack after reaching the hospital, and died despite everything that medical skill could do for his relief. He was suffering with a stomach disorder.

The deceased man was a native of Rossville where he was born about 44 years ago. He lived here all his life until his removal to Topeka with his mother, Mrs. Mary Rankin twelve years ago.

“Pat”, as he was affectionately known by everyone in this community was of a kindly and genial disposition, without an enemy in the world. He was always popular with his boyhood friends in this community and with the people he came in contact wherever he lived. Only a couple of days before his death he was in Rossville greeting friends while in the community with the oil truck he had been driving since becoming an employee of the Penn Lubricating Co.

The funeral services were held in the Rossville Christian church Monday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by the Rev. G. G. Horne of Oakland. The body was interred in the family lot in Rossville cemetery. The pallbearers were: A. E. Stovall, Lowell Hook, Joe Barney, R. R. Hawks, William Lambert and Clint Cless.

Music for the services was furnished by Miss Ruth Stanley and Mrs. Peter Navarre with Miss Velma Lambotte piano accompanist.

Mr. Rankin is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Rankin, one brother, Bert W. Rankin of East Lake, Colo., and one sister, Mrs. Ernest Brooks of Burlingame, Kans.
