 | Obituary- Reamer, May May Reamer, aged 13 of Silver Lake, was killed about 10 o’clock last Saturday night, a victim of a motor car collision at the intersection of the lower Silver Lake road and the brick yards road.
Jim Finney of 319 East 8th, street Topeka and Bob Alexander were in the car that collided with the Reamer car. The latter was going west on the Silver Lake road and Finney was driving north on the brick yard road The Reamer car was being driven by Chester Reamer, a brother of May, and in addition to those two another sister accompanied them. May died on the way to the hospital. Dorothy, the other sister suffered a sprained back but no broken bones. Chester was only slightly bruised.
The dead girl is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Reamer, and beside her parents is survived by five brothers, Charles, Harry, Ray, Chester and John; and three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Mohler, Mrs. Ethel Lower and Dorothy Reamer. The family lives southeast of Silver Lake. Funeral services were held Wednesday.
An inquest in connection with the accident is scheduled for next Saturday morning by Coroner II. L. Clark. In the meantime Finney is held in jail although no charges have been filed against him.
Finney is a former Paxico citizen and has been in the hands of the Shawnee county officers at various times on liquor charges.
