George and Lydia Reimler, St. Marys, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception and open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at the St. Marys Senior Center, 403 Lasley. Hosts will be their children: Heidy and Ron Elniff, Concordia; Cindy and Roger Erichsen, Milford; Debbie and Tom Brunin, St. Marys; and Christine Reimler, Royal Palm Beach, Fla. They have seven grandsons.
Lydia Steinruck and George Reimler were married June 30,1948, at Konigshofen, Bavaria, Germany.
Mr. Reimler served 20 years in the U.S. Army, and was administrator of St. Marys Manor for 18 years.

George and Lydia Reimler will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 29, with a family dinner in Abilene.
George and Lydia were married in Konigshofen, Germany, June 30, 1948. They have four daughters and seven grandsons who will be hosting the dinner.

Retired Chief Warrant Officer George C. Reimler, 83, passed away June 16, 2009, at St. Marys Community Hospital.
He was born Dec. 12,1925, at Lupus, Mo., the son of Charles W. and Mary K. Schaffer Reimler. He grew up in the Lupus community and attended Prairie Home High School, Prairie Home, Mo.
Reimler served in Germany during World War II. He met Lydia Steinruck; they married June 30, 1948, at
Konigshofen, Bavaria, Germany. He retired as a chief warrant officer.
Reimler later was the first adminis-trator at St. Marys Manor, holding that position from 1965 until his retirement in the early 1980s. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys, Aubert-Wall Veterans of Foreign Wars, St. Marys, and Jimmie Lillard Post 31 of the American Legion in Rossville. Reimler was elected to St. Marys City Council and had served as mayor. He had also been active in the St. Marys Chamber of Commerce.
George was a loving husband, father, opa and uncle. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Reimler in 1984 and a sister, Lilly Bueker in 2008.
Survivors include his wife of almost 61 years, Lydia of the home; four daughters and their spouses, Heidy and Ron Elniff of Concordia; Cindy and Roger Erichsen of Milford; Debbie and Tom Brunin of St. Marys; and Christine Reimler of Alma; three brothers and their spouses, Robert and Chlora Reimler of Centertown, Mo.; and Frank and Janet Reimler and Ralph and Connie Reimler, all of Jamestown, Mo.; seven grandsons, Nathan, Matthew, Nicholas, Ryan, Andrew, Phillip and Christopher.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 19 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment was in Mount Calvary CemŽetery, St. Marys.
