OVERBROOK — Bertha Nadine Reser, 71, Overbrook, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at an Overbrook nursing home.
Mrs. Reser worked for the Furst McNess Co. for 45 years and 10 years for Jostens American Yearbook in Topeka. She also worked five years for Brookside Manor in Overbrook.
She was born July 20, 1929, in Berryton, the daughter of Ralph Thomas and Bertha Elizabeth Zirkle Leonard. She attended school in Berryton and graduated from Topeka High School in 1947. She moved back to Overbrook from Topeka in 1971.
Mrs. Reser was a member of the Ladies Auxil¬iary to the Anderson-Raible Post No. 239 of the American Legion in Overbrook, the Overbrook Flower Club and the Kansas POW Chapter.
She married Donald William Reser on March 6, 1948, in Topeka. He died Aug. 30, 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Diana Sum¬ner, Garnett, and Elaine Davis, Overbrook; four sons, Michael L. Reser, Carbondale, Daniel D. Reser, Steven D. Reser and James L. Reser, all of Overbrook; two brothers, George Irvin Leonard, Overland Park, and Richard Leonard, Rockport, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and nine great¬grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Overbrook. Burial will be at the Overbrook Cemetery. Mrs. Reser will lie in state from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood- Roberts-Heise Funeral Home in Overbrook where visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
