Donald W Reser, 66, Carbondale, died Sunday, August 30, 1987, in an Overbrook convalescent center.
He worked for Scott Tire Co., Topeka, from 1947 to 1960, when he became grounds maintenance engineer at the Menninger Foundation. He retired from that post in 1983 because of ill health.
Mr. Reser served in the 106th infantry division during World War II, and was a prisoner of war in Germany.
He was born November 25, 1920, at Rossville, the son of William L. and Pearl Woods Reser.
He lived at Rossville, Silver Lake, and Topeka until 1950, when he moved to Berryton. He returned to Topeka in 1958 and moved to Overbrook in 1971.
He was a member of the Overbrook Bible Church, Anderson-Raible Post No. 239 of the American Legion at Over¬brook, and the Kansas chapter of American Ex-Prisoners of War.
He was married to Nadine Leonard March 6, 1948, in Topeka. She survives.

CARBONDALE - Donald W. Reser, 66, Carbondale, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 1987, in an Overbrook con¬valescent center.

Sumner, Garnett, and Mrs. Elaine S. Davis, Overbrook; a sister, Mrs. Nadine Jones, Topeka; and five brothers, Ben Reser, Lyndon, Harold Reser, Richland, Melford Reser, Sil¬ver Lake, Randall Reser, Topeka, and Robert Reser, Tecumseh; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednes¬day at the United Methodist Church in Overbrook. Anderson-Raible Post 239 of the American Legion will con¬duct graveside services at Over¬brook Cemetery.
Mr. Reser will lie in state until 10 a.m. Wednesday at Tibbitts-Griffin Highland Chapel in Topeka and later at the church until time of services. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Donald W. Reser Memorial Fund yet to be designated by relatives and sent in care of the funeral home.
