    Services will be Monday evening at the Potawatomie Community Hall a half-mile west of Mayetta for John Meexmac Rice, 86, Route 2, Mayetta, who died Wednesday in a Topeka convalescent center where he had been six days.

    He was born Feb. 11, 1884, at Mayetta and spent most of his life in the Mayetta community. He was a retired farmer.

    Survivors include six daughters, Marie Rice, Kansas City, Mo., Lillian Rice, La Canada, Calif., Mrs. Amelia Gray and Darlene Rice, both of San Bernardino, Calif., Mrs. Mary Hughs, Colton, Calif., and Mrs. Ethel Gerrard, Reno, Nev.; three sons, Eddie Rice, Route 2, Delia, William Rice, Hiawatha, and Kendall Rice, Starlake, Wis.; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    Burial will be Tuesday in Joe Mitchell Cemetery west of Mayetta. Mercer Funeral Home at Holton is in charge of arrangements.
