• Documents		Obituary- Roberts, Jennie Jennie L. Roberts Jennie L. Roberts, 93, Topeka, died Thurs., April 19, 2007, at Midland Hospice House. She was born Dec. 4, 1913, at Rossville, the daughter of Fred S. and Ida Mae (Gutshall) Heiland. She graduated from Rossville High School. Jennie was a member of the Elmont United Methodist Church and a 45 year member of the United Methodist Women. She was well-known as a good cook and was involved in farming, gardening, and volunteer work. Jennie was married to Richard DeGraff in 1938. He preceded her in death. She was married to Gilbert C. Roberts in 1946. He preceded her in death on Aug. 12,1960. She was also preceded in death by a son, Daniel G. Roberts, on Jan. 30,1991; 3 grandchildren; her parents; and two brothers, Fred Heiland and Harley Heiland. Surviving are 4 children: Barb DeGraff Smith, Janet Roberts McDonald, Robert P. Roberts and wife, Jeanne, and Susan Roberts Pederzani and husband, Ray, all of Topeka; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Sat., April 21, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Interment in Rochester Cemetery. Jennie will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Friday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.   		Birthday- Roberts, Jennie Jennie L. Roberts, Topeka will celebrate her 90th birthday at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 6 in Fellowship Hall at Elmont United Methodist Church. Hosts will be her family. She was born Dec. 4, 1913, in Rossville, where she grew up. Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker, restaurant employee and active in church work. Her husband, Gilbert Roberts, died Aug. 12, 1960. Her children are Barbara and Bill Smith, Janet McDonald, Bob and Jeanne Roberts and Sue and Ray Pederzani, all of Topeka. Her son Daniel died in January 1991. She has nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
