    Robert D. ‘Bob’ Rogers
    Robert D. "Bob" Rogers, 80, Topeka, died Saturday, July 23,
    2005, at Midland Hospice House.

    He was born July 17, 1925, at Elmont, the son of William Paul and Hazel F. Layman Rogers.

    Mr. Rogers served in the Army and was retired from Goodyear after 30 years of service.

    He was a member of Hoyt Lodge No. 327 AF&AM and Capital City Daylight Lodge No. 454 AF&AM. He also was a member of Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies and had received the honorary 33rd Degree. He also was a member of Arab Shrine Temple, Legion of Honor Unit and Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion.

    He was a pedal steel guitar player, playing with numerous country bands over the years.

    He married Eileen M. Myers on Jan. 18,1947, at Ottawa. She survives, of the home.

    Other survivors include a brother, Donald Rogers, Topeka; sister, Marie Wright, Topeka; brother-in-law, Melvin E. Myers, Kansas City, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
    Mr. Rogers was cremated. Masonic services will be conducted by Hoyt Lodge No. 327, AF&AM and Rose Croix services will be conducted by Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence. The family will receive friends following lodge services until 8 p.m. Inurnment will be in Penwell-Gabel’s Memorial Park Cemetery.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Arab Shrine Temple, Children’s Hospitals Transportation Fund, 1305 S. Kansas Ave., Topeka, 66612.
