    GEORGE F. ROMICK
    George F. Romick, 79, Topeka, died Friday, October 3, 1980, at a Topeka hospital.

    He was born November 28, 1900, at Maple Hill, the son of H. S. and Maggie Oliver Romick.

    Mr. Romick worked for Santa Fe Railway Company from 1923 to 1931. He later was a member of the Topeka Fire Department from 1932 to 1961, when he retired as an assistant fire chief.

    He was a member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church.

    He was married to Martha Swaney on February 10, 1923, at Hickman Mills, Mo. She survives.

    Other survivors include a brother, O. L. Romick, Topeka; and a sister, Mrs. Eleanor Whelan, Harveyville.

    Services were at 11 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, 1275 Boswell, Topeka, Ks. 66604, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
