    Obituary- Root, Luther
    Luther H. Root, 70, retired farmer died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edna Figgins, 153 Story street Monday morning. He was born March 5, 1862 and was widely known in Silver Lake and vicinity. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen lodge of Silver Lake. He retired from the farm 12 years ago. He had made several trips to California in recent years and had been home only three weeks.

    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen W. Root, Topeka; three daughters, Mrs. Figgins, Topeka; Mrs. Louise Whitehead, Rossville and Mrs. Jeanette Regnani, Topeka; two sons, Fred A. Root, Tecumseh and Theodore L. Root, Silver Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Hughes and Miss Sarah Root of Ingleside home and Mrs. Laura Worland, Topeka and 11 grand children.

    The funeral was held at Grace cathedral at 2:30 o’clock Thursday morning. Interment was made in Rochester cemetery. The body lay in state at the Penwell mortuary from 9 until 12 o’clock Thursday morning.
