Mary Alice Saia
Mary Alice Saia, 93, of Topeka, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012.
She was born December 4, 1918 in Grant City, MO, the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Wineinger) Constant. She was a graduate of Delia High School.
Mrs. Saia was a homemaker the majority of her life and enjoyed crocheting, oil painting, gardening and fishing.
Mary married Victor Marion Saia on April 22, 1937 in Oskaloosa, KS. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2004. Survivors include two sons, Victor L. (Kay) Saia of Silver Lake and Ronald F. (Barbara) Saia of Richmond, KY; a daughter, Sandra J. (Ken) Broaddus of San Diego, CA; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Dueward Constant and a sister, Ruth Goff.
A funeral ceremony will be 10 a.m., Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at the West Lawn Memorial Gardens, Topeka. Mary will lie in state after 3 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care of Kansas or the charity of the donor’s choice.
