    George N. Scheidegger
    HOLTON — George N. Scheidegger, 82, Holton, died Friday, Oct. 3, at a Holton hospital.

    Mr. Scheidegger was a farmer and had worked for the Holton Police Department from 1958 to 1968 and the Holton Street Department from 1968 until he retired in 1971.
    He was born Dec. 24, 1903, at Bartley, Neb., the son of George M. and Carrie E. Boop Scheidegger. He lived in Holton since 1961.

    Mr. Scheidegger was a member of the Church of the Brethren at Falls City, Neb. He also was a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows at Holton and Holton Volunteer Fire Department.

    He married Gertie May Flanders on April 16, 1927, in Topeka. She died June 28, 1974. He married Emeline Ingels on Oct. 14, 1978, at Holton. She survives. An infant son, Clarence Robert Scheidegger, died in 1935, and another son, Fred Scheidegger, died in 1981.

    Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Betty Moore, Holton, and Mrs. Lois Johnson and Mrs. Elsie Ingels, both of Topeka; a son, Dale Scheidegger, Holton; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Darlene Cattrell, Nortonville, and Mrs. Joyce Parrett, Silver Lake; two stepsons, Marvin Ingels, Topeka, and Kenneth Ingels, McPherson; four sisters, Mrs. Mildred Monroe and Mrs. Gertrude Wells, both of Holton, Mrs. Maye Flanders, Topeka, and Mrs. Gwendo- la Curtis, Everest; four brothers, Ted Scheidegger and Charles Scheidegger, both of Holton, and Dean Scheidegger and Bill Scheidegger, both of Topeka; 12 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; and six stepgreat- grandchildren.

    Services will be at 10 a m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home here. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in care of Denison State Bank, Holton, 66436.
