    Mrs. Velma H. Schlotz
    Mrs. Velma H. Schlotz, 84, Maple Hill died Wednesday, Feb. 6, at her residence.

    She was born on Sept. 17, 1900 in Brecken County, Ky., the daughter of Samuel and Liza Webb Townsley.

    She married Arthur H. Schlotz on April 14, 1921, location unavailable. They moved to Topeka and then to Delia in 1928. He died Oct. 13, 1955. She moved to Maple Hill in 1956. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Raine, on May 24, 1967.

    Mrs. Schlotz was a member of the Maple Hill Community Congregational Church, the Church Quilter, the American Legion Auxiliary in Maple Hill and the Maple Leaf Club.

    She is survived by two brothers, Archie Townsley, South Newport, Ky., and Edgar Townsley, Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Ida Eckert, Laconia, Ind., and Julia Smith, Richmond, Ind.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

    Services will at 1 p.m. Saturday at Maple Hill Community Congregational Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maple Hill Community Congregational Church. Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
