    Richard Schneider
    Richard W. Schneider, 60, Topeka, was killed late Sunday, Aug. 20, 1995, when the vehicle he was driving left Interstate 70 and overturned near the Snokomo exit in Wabaunsee County.

    He was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Nortonville, the son of Charles and Oleva Good Schneider. He had served in the Navy. He was a truck driver for Fleming Foods 36 years.

    He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Local No. 696 of the Teamsters Union.

    He was married to Bonnie Gerety Oct. 7, 1961, in Topeka. She survives.

    Other survivors include three daughters, Julie Ann Schneider, Lisa Marie Schneider and Janet Lynn Schneider, all in Topeka; five brothers, Kenneth Schneider, Charlotte, N.C., Ralph Schneider, Mound City, Dale Schneider and Jack Schneider, both in Atchison, and Pat Schneider, Rossville; three sisters, Evelyn Bernica, Topeka, Betty Coleman, Valley Falls, and Linda Talley, Morrill; a half-sister, Ellen Allen, Grand Junction, Colo.; a grandson and three granddaughters.

    Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Schneider will lie in state from 2 to 9 n. Wednesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a parish rosary at 7 p.m. will be followed by a prayer service.

    60-year-old Topeka man was pronounced dead late Sunday at the scene of a one-vehicle accident in Wabaunsee County.

    Authorities identified the man as Richard Schneider. The accident was reported at 11:57 p.m. Sunday near
    Interstate 70 and the Snokomo Road exit, said Wabaunsee County Sheriffs Department officials. The accident scene was about 10 miles west of the Shawnee-Wabaunsee county line.

    Officials said Schneider’s vehicle, which was traveling on a frontage road near the interstate, went through bridge railing and landed on its top in a creek.
