    Influenza-Pneumonia Fatal to Mrs. Searcy
    The first death to occur in this vicinity from influenza or pneumonia was that of Mrs. Roy Searcy which occured at 2:30 p. m. last Sunday after an illness of ten days. Mrs. Searcy became ill after taking care of Mr. Searcy and her children who were afflicted with the flu, the former for a time dangerously ill. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the home short services being conducted by Rev. Hart of the Presbyterian church and the body taken to St. Clere for burial. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Butts, who reside at St. Clere, where she was born and raised. Beside her husband she is survived by three young children.
