    JOAN W. SEARS
    Mrs. Joan Waters Sears, 52, Blue Springs, Mo., died Wednesday, April 6, 1983, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

    Mrs. Sears was a teacher at the Blue Springs Montessori Schools. She was a member of the Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church, Blue Springs. Mrs. Sears’ husband, the Reverend Don Sears, was a former minister of the Rossville and Delia United Presbyterian Churches.

    She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and had lived in Pennsylvania and in Kansas before moving to Blue Springs in 1968.

    She leaves her husband, the Reverend Donald F. Sears, of the home; three sons, Christopher John Sears, Acton, Mass., Andrew Frank Sears, Chicago, Ill., and William Isaac Sears of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Roberts, Blue Springs, and Miss Rebecca Sears of the home; her mother, Mrs. Frances Waters, Blue Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Avery, Alexandria, Va., and Mrs. Gail Allen, West Middlesex, Pa.; and a granddaughter.

    Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, followed by a reception. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested contributions to the church memorial fund.
