    Esther Sebring
    Esther Sebring, 84, Rossville, died Wednesday, July 17, at a Topeka nursing home.

    Miss Sebring taught grade school at Reed School, formerly Watson, Rossville and Pleasant Hill School before she retired in 1966 after teaching 40 years in Shawnee County. After she retired she was a substitute teacher.

    She was born May 27, 1901, at Rossville, the daughter of Austin and Luella Anderson Sebring, and spent most of her life at Rossville. She attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Emporia State Teachers College and Washburn University at Topeka.

    Miss Sebring was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church, Retired Teachers Association and Alpha Delta Kappa sorority.

    Survivors include several cousins.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Miss Sebring will lie in state until 9 p.m. today at Parker Price Mortuary where the family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. today. She later will lie in state an hour before service time at the church.
