| Obituary- Simecka, Stephen Stephen B. Simecka
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church for Stephen B. Simecka, 78, 828 Buchanan, who died Monday at a Topeka convalescent center after an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 25, 1902, at Delia, the son of John and Henrietta Simecka. He was graduated from Delia High School and Chillicothe Business College, Chillicothe, Mo.
Mr. Simecka farmed near Delia and later was employed at John Morell Co., for 18 years, Kansas Military District USAF Depot at Topeka and was with W.A.L. Thompson Hardware for 10 years where he was warehouse foreman when he retired.
He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 534 and an auxiliary member of Legion of Mary.
He was married to Catherine Halloran June 30, 1932, at Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Peggy M. Peyton, Tulsa, Okla., and Patricia K. Simeka, of the home; a son, Ronald S. Simeka, 1151 Washburn; a sister, Mrs. Dora Immenschuh, Silver Lake; four brothers, William Simecka, Frank Simecka and John Simecka, all of St. Marys, and James Simecka, Delia; and four grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Mr. Simecka will lie in state from 2 until 9 p.m. Thursday at Brennan Funeral Home, where Knights of Columbus rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. and parish prayer litergy will be recited at 8; 15 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name Catholic Church, 1114 S.W. 10th, Topeka, 66606.
