    Harold Skaggs, Sr.
    Harold M. Skaggs Sr., 73, prominent Dodge City businessman, died in a Wichita Hospital after a long illness. He was a former resident of the Topeka and Rossville area.
    Born in Allen, Kansas, he moved to Topeka in 1910. He and Miss Virgelene McPherson were married in 1913 at Rossville. They lived in Topeka for several years and their sons, Milton and Clarence, were born there. The family moved to Dodge City in 1917.
    Mr. Skaggs was associated with the W.A.L. Thompson hardware firm for a number of years. In January 1930, he bought out the interest of the late Lester Luther in the Luther-McCoy auto dealership at Dodge City. This auto firm became McCoy-Skaggs and later Skaggs motor company.
    Mrs. Skaggs died in 1955. Mr. Skaggs and Wilma Curts were married in 1956. He retired several years ago.
    Survivors include his widow and two sons; a sister, six grandchildren and six great¬grandchildren.
