Brandon Keith Snyder, 17, Shawnee, died Friday, November 26, 1999, after a head-on collision just north of Lawrence on US-24 Highway.
He was born in Kansas City, MO, the son of Galen and Mary Theresa VandeVelde Snyder, and had lived most of his life in the Kansas City area except for two years he lived in Rossville. He had attended Rossville High School, and was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in Rossville.
Surviving him are his father, Galen Snyder, Shawnee; his mother, Mary Theresa Snyder, St. Marys; a brother, Ryan Neil Snyder, Spring Hill; a sister, Tiffany Gale Snyder, St. Marys; his paternal grandparents, Homer and Wilma Snyder, Bronson; his maternal grandmother, Bonnie Vande Velde, Rossville; and his maternal greatgrandmother, Margaret Vande Velde, Emmett
Friends may visit from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (this evening) at the Maple Hill Funeral Home in Kansas City, KS, after a rosary at 6:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. after the visitation.
His service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Stanislaus Church in Rossville. Burial will be in the Rossville Cemetery.

A Johnson County teenager died Friday afternoon, November 26,1999, after a head-on collision just north of Lawrence on US-24 highway.
According to Kansas Highway Patrol authorities, Brandon Snyder, 17, of Shawnee, was driving on US-24 at about 1:50p.m. near mile
marker 392 when his 1989 Chevrolet passenger car went left of center and struck a 1996 Ford passenger car being driven in the opposite direction by Linda Boger, 45, Independence, MO. Snyder died in flight on his way to the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
Boger also was taken by helicopter to KU Medical Center. She was listed in serious condition Friday night. This newspaper has not received an update on her condition.
