| Marriage- James, Leyo-Somers, Chauncey Miss Leyo James of Rossville, and Chauncey Somers, of Sterling, Kansas, were quietly united in marriage, Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the U.B. Church of Topeka, by the pastor, E.E. Barber. The bride wore a dainty white satin dress and the groom wore the conventional black. The wedding dinner was served at the Creamery Cafe, after which the couple went for a short wedding trip to Kansas City and visited some of their friends at Kansas City University. They will make their home in Topeka this winter where they are attending the Topeka business college.

Miss Chauncey Somers and Mr. Leyo James of Sterling were quietly married, Wednesday, October 8, at noon, at the United Brethren church, by the Rev. Mr. E.E. Barber. There were no attendants. The bride's gown was white satin. After the wedding Mr. and Mrs. James went fro a short wedding trip to Kansas City, and are in Topeka for a short time before going to their home in Sterling. Mr. James has been attending Washburn college and has friends among the students. |

| Obituary- Somers, Chauncy Chanucy [sic Chauncey] Somers
Chauncy Somers, born at Sterling, Kansas, passed away at San Rosa hospital in San Antonio, Texas, March 27, at the age of 60.
He was in business here for a few years, moving to Sterling, Kansas, after the death of his wife; spent a few years in Kansas City, moving to La Feria, Texas, in 1938. He is survived by 2 sons Clyde and Floyd, five grandchildren; two sisters and one brother; Dr. Letha Somers of San Juan, Texas; Mrs. Murrill Northrup and Clifford Somers both of Topeka. His daughter Ermyl passed away a few years ago.
