    Benjamin E. Stach
    Lodge No. 128. Rossville, KS
    Brother Benjamin E. Stach was born December 17, 1916 north of Rossville to Frank and Frances Smatla Stach and died August 28, 2007 in Topeka. Funeral services were held August 31, with interment at Czech Moravan Cemetery, north of Rossville.
    Benjamin married Arlis on August 16, 1944 in Lawrence. He was the president of our lodge and an officer for 36 years. He was also a 50-year lodge member.
    Survivors include his wife, Arlis Stach of Rossville; one son, Robert Stach of Raymore, MO; and one daughter, Sherri Gannan of Manhattan.

    BENJAMIN E. “BENNIE” STACH
    Benjamin E. “Bennie” Stach, Rossville, age 90, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at Lexington Park in Topeka.
    He was born Dec. 17, 1916, on the Stach homestead north of Rossville, the son of Frank and Frances Smatla Stach. Bennie lived all of his life within one-half mile of where he was born.
    Bennie was a farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge No. 128 where he was serving as president and had served in that office for over 36 years. Mr. Stach was the treasurer of the Czech Moravan Cemetery. He and his wife Arlis, along with Bill and Tina Olejnik, were caretakers of the cemetery for many years. Bennie was an honorary member of the FFA.
    Mr. Stach was preceded in death by two brothers, August and Frank. He also was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin, on Nov. 4, 1966.
    On Aug. 16, 1944, he was united in marriage to Arlis Hundertfund at Lawrence. She survives of the home.
    Other survivors include a daughter, Sherri and Vern Gannon, Manhattan; a son, Dr. Robert and Marilyn Stach, Raymore, Mo.; grandchildren, Ryan, Justin and Chris Stach and Nicole Gannon.
    Funeral services were held at Fri¬day, Aug. 31, at the Rossville Presbyterian Church.
    Interment was in the Czech Moravan Cemetery north of Rossville.
