    Mr. and Mrs. Auswell Stauffer, Holton, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. April 20 at the National Guard Armory, Holton.

    Hosts will be their children: Mr. and Mrs. Russell Stauffer, Sabetha; Mr. and Mrs. Auswell Stauffer Jr. and Brad Stauffer, Mayetta; and Mr. and Mrs. James Goldsworthy, Germantown, Tenn. The couple has nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    Auswell Stauffer and Vinita Linsacum were married April 29, 1936, and have lived their entire married lives in the Holton community.

    Stauffers celebrate
    65th anniversary
    Mr. and Mrs. Auswell Stauffer of rural Holton will be honored with a card shower in celebration of their 65th wedding anniversary. They were married April 29, 1936, in Jackson County.

    They are the parents of four children: Russell and his wife, Louise, of Sabetha, Bud and his wife, Shirley, of Mayetta, Sharon Goldsworthy and her husband, Jim, of Memphis, Tenn., and Brad and his wife, Jeanette, of Topeka. Together with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they will celebrate with a family dinner on April 22.

    Auswell Fisher Stauffer
    HOLTON - Auswell Fisher Stauffer, 91, of Holton died Friday,
    June 17,2005.

    Auswell was born May 8, 1914, in the Pleasant Valley Community west of Holton. He was the son of Russell A. and Charlotte Stephenson Stauffer. He graduated from Circleville High School in 1932.

    Auswell was a farmer and stockman and a long-time area cowboy. He owned and operated Stauffer Salvage and Supply and had also worked at the Holton Livestock Exchange for more than 40 years.

    He was a member of Circleville United Methodist Church and was the superintendent of the Circleville United Methodist Sunday School, and a club leader for Pleasant Valley Rustlers 4-H. He was on the Pleasant Valley School Board, the Circleville High School Board, and he was a Banner Township Democratic Committeeman.

    Auswell married Vinita G. Linsacum on April 29,1936, in Holton. She survives.

    He is also survived by sons, Russell E. Stauffer, Sabetha, Auswell F. "Bud" Stauffer, Jr., Mayetta, Bradford W. Stauffer, Eudora; daughter Sharon E. Stauffer Goldsworthy, Germantown, Tenn.; brother Lauren R. Stauffer, Holton; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

    He was preceded in death by a brother, Thayne Stauffer.

    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Olive Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Circleville United Methodist Church, the Circleville Alumni Building Fund or to the donor’s choice, in care of Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
