| Anniversary- Stevens, John and Comella Mr. and Mrs. John Stevens who were married November 3, 1897, will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Sunday, November 3, 1957, at their home with open house. No invitations have been issued but friends and relatives are invited to call from 2 to 4:30 p. m.
Mr. and Mrs. Stevens have lived in the Willard and Rossville communities all their lives. They have four children, Mr. Kenneth Stevens and Mrs. Lelia Hassett of Topeka, Kansas, Mr. Luther Stevens of Yakima, Washington, and Mr. Glen Stevens of Wichita, Kansas. They have three grandchildren, Mrs. Charlotte Kopp and Mrs. Karen Neal of Houston. Texas, and Debra Stevens of Topeka. There is one great- grandson, Steven R. Kopp of Houston, Texas.
Mr. Stevens has been a Texaco dealer here for thirty yens.

| Obituary- Stevens, John 1 John Stevens, 83, died Wednesday
John Stevens died yesterday, July 23, at a Topeka hospital. He underwent surgery last week for a ruptured appendix. Mr. Stevens had operated the local Texaco Station for nearly 30 years and was active until his illness last week.
He was 83 years of age and he arid Mrs. Stevens celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary last November.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Rossville Methodist Church, Rev. Don Jones officiating. Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

John Stevens, 83, of Rossville, died Wednesday at a Topeka hospital. He was born in Schenectady, N. Y., February 10, 1875, and came to Shawnee county when he was 4. He moved to Ross-ville 31 years ago where he operated a Texaco station for 30 years. He was a member of Rossville Methodist church.
Mr. and Mrs. Stevens celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary November 3, 1957.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cornelia Stevens of the home; three sons, H. Luther Stevens of Yakima, Wash., Glen H. Stevens of Wichita, and Kenneth L. Stevens of 3228 Munson; a daughter, Mrs. Lelia Hassett of 512 Topeka; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Stevens of Rossville and Albert Stevens of Willard and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Givens of Rossville.
Wall-Diffenderfer mortuary is in charge of services at 2:30 pm Friday at Rossville Methodist church. The Rev. Donald Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Dover cemetery.

He and Mrs. Stevens observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary November 3, 1957. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons. H. Luther Stevens, Yakima, Wash., Glenn H. Stevens, Wichita, and Kenneth L. Stevens, Topeka; a daughter, Mrs. Lelia Hassett, Topeka; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Stevens, Rossville, and Albert Stevens, Willard; and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Givens, Rossville.
