She was united in marriage to Charles Stevens on May 10, 1866. To this union eight children were born, seven of whom survive. Two sons were born in England, of whom one, James, died in infancy. The family came to America in 1872. settling in New York state. In 1879 they came to Kansas, settling near Dover, in which community she has lived ever since. Mr. Stevens preceded her in death in 1921. 'Since that time she has made her home with the Clarence Grant family.

Mrs. Stevens united with the Wesleyan Church in England in early life. She kept up her interest in Christianity throughout her life, being one of the charter members of the West Union church, and interested to the end in the welfare of the church and the Kingdom of God.
