    IN AUTO CRASH
Clyde Straub, 78, and his wife, Alice, 72, were killed instantly Thursday afternoon, October 23rd, in a head-on auto crash, which occurred north of Robinson, Kansas, where the Straubs had made their home for many years. Alone and critically injured in the other car was David Twombly, 21, a seventh grade teacher in the Robinson school. Mr. Straub, a retired rural mail carrier and his wife were returning from an afternoon spent fishing on Nemaha river.

Survivors of the Straubs include their only child. Keith Straub, a Swift and Company employee working out of Hiawatha, Kansas, and their three grandchildren. Mrs. Alice Straub is also survived by Mrs. Ina Diehl of Rossville and Mrs. Ruth Hoffmeister formerly of Topeka, but now residing in Alabama.

Funeral services for the couple were held on Monday, October 27 at the First Methodist church in Robinson and burial was in the Hiawatha Cemetery.

The Robinson Masonic Lodge and the Robinson Bithiah Chapter of Eastern Star conducted graveside services.
