    Mrs. Orville Strimple, a recent bride was the guest of honor at a bridal shower Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Naomi Pendleton, with Mr. Opal Bush and Mrs. Agnes Snoddy assisting hostesses. Following a social afternoon dainty refreshments of ice cream, cake and lemonade were served. The bride received many lovely gifts.     Mr. and Mrs. Henry Turner announce the marriage of their daughter Jacqueline Jean, to Mr. Orville E. Strimple, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Strimple of Rossville. The wedding took place Saturday morning, June 10, at 8 o'clock at the home of the groom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Strimple, with his grandfather reading the double ring ceremony before a bank of garden flowers.

    The groom's sister, Mrs. Viola McClain was the brides attendant. The best man was Vencille McClain who live in Ottawa.

    The bride wore a tan suit with pink accessories, and a corsage of pink roses. Mrs. McClains corsage was of white chrysanthemums.

    After a short wedding trip to the Ozarks, they will reside in Rossville.

    Mr. Strimple is employed by the Goodyear Tire Company at Topeka.

    Rossville- Orville Strimple, 80, died Tuesday, August 5,2008 at a daughter's home in Rossville.

    He was born July 14, 1928 at Rossville, the son of Clyde and Anna L Dolezilek Strimple.

    Mr. Strimple was employed by the State of Kansas at the Topeka State Hospital in the maintenance department as a painter for 35 years. He was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church and Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion both in Rossville.

    He was united in marriage to Jacqueline J. "Jackie" Lloyd on June 10,1950 at Rossville. She preceded him in death on January 11,2004. He was also preceded in death by an infant grandson on May 8, 1975, by a grandson Jordan David Nadeau on March 1, 2001 and by a sister Viola McClain.

    Survivors include two daughters, Jan (Daryl) Dannefer and Gay (David) Nadeau, all of Rossville; four grandchildren, Amanda Khemraj, Eric Dannefer, Dylan Nadeau and Anna Nadeau; two great granddaughters.

    Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 8, 2008 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Interment will be in the Rossville Cemetery where Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 will conduct military graveside services. Mr. Strimple will lie in state after 6:00 P.M. Thursday, August 7th at the funeral home where family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
