    Mrs. America Stum
    Mrs. America Stum, 78, of Rossville, died Friday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward DeGraff, 410 Gratton, Topeka.

    She was born in North Topeka and had made her home in Rossville most of her life. She was a member of the Rossville Christian Church.

    She is survived by a son, John Stum, Rossville; three daughters, Mrs. Sadie Baird, Rossville; Mrs. Mike Kesler, and Mrs. Edward DeGraff, both of Topeka; twenty-four great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Rossville Christian Church, conducted by the pastor, Kent Newman. Music was furnished by Miss Norma Fawl and Peggy Janette Navarre, accompanied by Mrs. Thelma Sigler.

    The pallbearers were Mrs. Stum’s grandsons, T-Sgt. John DeGraff, Leroy DeGraff, Nelson DeGraff, Leo Kesler, Lester Baird and Richard Verhage.


    In Memoriam – In loving memory of my dear mother, Mrs. A.B. Stum, who passed away 17 years ago, March 2, 1945: What would I give to clasp your hand, your happy face to see. To hear your voice and see your sweet smiles that meant so much to me. Sadly missed by daughter and husband.

    Out-of-town relatives here for the funeral of Mrs. Belle Stum included Misses Peggy and Maimi Shoemaker, St. Marys; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Besta, Wamego; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Crouse, Auburn; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Arnold, Mr. John Stovall, Mrs. Ruth Stroup and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Orren Stovall and Mr. and Mrs. D.V. Marney, all of Topeka.

    CARD OF THANKS – We sincerely thank all friends and neighbors for assistance and will hold in grateful memory all those offering sympathy and floral offerings in the time of our sorrow, the loss of our mother.
