    Mrs. Belle Stum announces the marriage of her son, John Stum, to Miss Lottie Besta. The wedding occurred Wednesday, April 11th at Alma. Mrs. Stum is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albin Besta of this community. Mr. and Mrs. Stum will make their home west of Rossville on the Mulvane ranch, where is employed by Mr. F.P. McCollough.

    A wedding dance was given Saturday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. John Stum at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Heiland.     Duane C. Stum
    BRAINERD, Minn. — Services were Saturday at Brenny Funeral Chapel in nearby Baxter tor Duane Charles Stum, 62, Brainerd, formerly of Rossville, Kan., who died June 4, 1996, at his home. He had cancer.

    He was born Jan. 27, 1934, in Rossville, the son of John E. and Lottie Besta Stum, and spent his early life in the Rossville, Wamego and Delia communities. He moved to St. Paul, Minn., about 20 years ago. He was a fishing guide and owned and operated the launch at Headquarters near Brainerd.

    He was married to Barbara Ogrosky May 4, 1985, in Aitkin County, Minn. They owned and operated the Green Lantern club near Brainerd since 1988. She survives.

    Other survivors include two daughters, Diane Myer, Topeka, and Brenda Peterson, Henderson, Minn.; a son, Dennis Dachenhausen, Topeka; a stepson, Edward Minke, St. Paul, Minn.; his mother, Lottie Stum, Rossville; two sisters. Sara Horak, Delia, and Agnes Cox, Cabool, Mo.; a brother, Wilbur Stum, Rossville; and three grandchildren.

    Cremation followed services.

    Duane C. Stum
    Duane Charles Stum, 62, Nokay Lake Area, Brainerd, MN., died Tuesday, June 4, 1996, at his home.

    He was born January 27,1934, in Rossville to John E. and Lottie Besta Stum. John E. Stum died in 1972.

    Duane lived his early life in Kansas and moved to St. Paul in the 1970s. He was a fishing guide and owned and operated the launch at Headquarters for 13 years.

    He married Barbara Ogrosky May 4, 1985, in Aitkin County, MN. She survives.

    They purchased the Green Lantern in 1988, which they were operating. He was a member of Garrison Commercial Club.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Diane Myer, Topeka, and Brenda Peterson, Henderson, MN.; a son, Dennis Dachenhausen, Topeka; a stepson, Edward Minke, St. Paul, MN; his mother, Lottie Stum, Rossville; two sisters, Sara Horak, Delia, and Agnes Cox, Cabool, Mo.; and a brother, Wilbur Stum, Rossville.

    Visitation for family and friends was from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN. His memorial service was at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The body was cremated.

    Lottie Stum, Wilbur and Sally Stum, Rossville, Robert and Agnes Cox, Cabool, MO, and Bennie and Sara Horak, Delia, flew to Brainerd, MN on June 8, to attend the funeral services for their son and brother, Duane Stum.
