| Obituary- Tholl, Elizabeth 1 Elizabeth "Liz” Tholl
ROSSVILLE- Elizabeth "Liz" Tholl, 92, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at her home.
She was born January 25,1917 at Delia, the daughter of Emil and Mary VandeVelde Mattan. She had lived in the Rossville community since 1947. She grew up at Delia. Liz and her husband farmed at Emmett until moving to Rossville. She had worked for the IGA Store in Rossville many years. Mrs. Tholl was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville and the Altar Society at the church. She was a past member of the Emmett Jolly Workers Club. She had been a volunteer at Lets Help in Topeka.
On November 21, 1935 she was married to Eugene F. Tholl at Holy Cross Catholic in Emmett. He died May 14,1972.
Surviving her are two daughters, Mary Moylan, Council Grove and Betty Marney, Rossville; two sisters, Louise VanDeWoestyne, Geneseo, IL. and Mary Cowan, Silver Lake; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 27, 2009 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Mrs. Tholl will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys where there will be a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 P.M. | Birthday- Tholl, Elizabeth Tholl to celebrate 90th birthday
Elizabeth Tholl will celebrate her 90th birthday with a family dinner at Puffy's Steakhouse on Sunday, Jan. 28.
Elizabeth was born Jan. 25, 1917, at Delia. She married Eugene Tholl on Nov. 21, 1935. He died May 12, 1972. They had two daughters, Mary Moylan, Council Grove, and Betty Marney, Rossville.
She has eight grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren.
