Frank Tholl Killed
In Tractor Truck Accident
Frank S. Tholl, 77, St, Marys, died Monday from injuries received in a tractor-truck accident near St. Marys.
Mr. Tholl was born Aug. 27, 1887 at Hanover. He farmed all his life. He resided in Emmett until 1962 and had lived in St. Marys since.
Mr. Tholl and his wife Liddie celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in February. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; two sons, Eugene F. Tholl, Rossville, Leo G„ Tholl of Emmett; one sister, Mrs. Katie Schmelzle, Seneca; two brothers, Thomas Tholl, Atchison and Peter Tholl, Topeka; six grand children, and six great-grandchildren.
Requiem high mass was sung at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Rosary was recited at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys. Rev. Edward Thro, S.J. officiated.
Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys was in charge of arrangements.
Frank S. Tholl of St. Marys was killed Monday afternoon about two miles west of St. Marys when a semitruck hit his tractor on Highway 24. It was reported both were traveling in the same direction, going east, when the accident happened. The truck loaded with wheat overturned in the ditch and the driver escaped injury. Tholl was thrown from the tractor and the lister he was pulling ran over him.
