| Anniversary- Pearl, James and Rosa FIFTY YEARS ON SAME FARM
Fifty years of married life, all spent on the same farm, were celebrated by Mr. and Mrs. James H. Pearl, who live five miles southwest of Rossville, with a family dinner at noon and a reception from 2 to 5 o’clock Sunday afternoon, Jan. 26.
The Pearls were married and moved to their present home Jan. 26 1886. Mr. Pearl has been a Kansan for sixty-four years. Mrs. Pearl for fifty-four years. He was born in Columbus, Warren county, Pa., December 4, 1858, and came to Kansas in February of the year of 1872 Mrs. Pearl was born in Sterling. Whiteside county, Ill., January 2 1861, and came to Kansas in February, 1882. The relatives present for the occasion, were five of their six children and their families Mr. and Mrs. John Pearl and family; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pearl and family; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pearl and Family; Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas, of Kansas City, Miss Rose Pearl, Miss Katherine Halloran, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ronsse, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Ronsse, Mr. James Doyle, Mr. Leo Doyle.

Miss May Pearl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Pearl of route 14, and Mr. John Thomas, of Beloit, Kansas, were married yesterday morning at 8:15 in Immaculate Conception church, St. Marys. Miss Josephine McCormick, of St. Marys, cousin of the bride and Mr. Frank Pearl, brother of the bride, were the attendants. A breakfast was served to the relatives and close friends at the home of the bride immediately following the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas left at once for Kansas City in their car to spend a few days and will then go to Beloit to make their home, where Mr. Thomas is the manager of the O'Brien pharmacy. Out-of-town guests present were; Mr. and Mrs. Macey and son Warren, Miss Charlotte Thomas, Mr. Hal Thomas and Mrs. Jas. Pearl, Jr. and son Joe, all of Beloit.

The marriage of Miss Mary M. Pearl of this city, and Mr. George Thomas of Beloit, was solemnized at the Immaculate Conception church, Wednesday morning at 8:15. The ceremony was performed by Father S.A. Ryan, S.J. The mass was sung by the members of the Immaculate Conception high school. During the offertory Mrs. Jas. Pearl, jr., of Beloit, and Miss Josie DeMarais sang the "Ave Marie."
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Pearl, sr. She was attired in a suit of wisteria broadcloth, with hat, gloves and shoes of taupe. Her corsage bouquet was pink roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Josephine McCormick, a cousin of the bride, acted as bridesmaid. She wore a dark blue broadcloth suit piped in red, a black velvet hat trimmed in red, a corsage bouquet of red roses and lilies of the valley.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Mary Thomas of Beloit. He was attended by Mr. Frank Pearl, a brother of the bride.
After the wedding a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents for the relatives and a few intimate friends. The out of town guests were: Harold Thomas and Miss Charlotte Thomas of Beloit, the brother and sister of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. James Macey and son Warren of Woodston, Kans.; Mrs. James Gregory of Junction City, an aunt of the bride, and Mrs. James Pearl, jr., and son Joseph of Beloit.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas left Wednesday afternoon in their car for Kansas City. They will reside at Beloit.

| Obituary- Thomas, Mary 1 SM native dies while
visiting here
Mrs. Mary Thomas of Stockton who has been visiting with her brother, John Pearl in St. Marys, and with her sister, Miss Rose Pearl, Topeka, the past few weeks, died about two hours after arrival at a Topeka hospital Friday.
Mrs. Thomas suffered a heart attack while visiting with relatives here.
She was born May 30, 1894, at St. Marys where she spent her early life. She lived east of Woodston in Rooks County from 1917 until 1959, when she moved into Stockton. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church at Stockton and the Altar Society of the church.
She was married to George Thomas in 1917, who preceded her in death, February of 1959.
Survivors include a son: Phillip Thomas, rural Woodston; a step-son, George Leo Thomas, of Seattle, Wash.; a sister: Miss Rose Pearl, Topeka; two brothers: John Pearl of St. Marys, and James Pearl of Greenville, Mich.; and a grandson, John Thomas, of Manhattan.
Services were held Monday from St. Thomas Church, Stockton, with interment made at Osborne.
