    Eugene A. Thompson
    Eugene A. Thompson, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2007 at his residence. He was born on August 14, 1919 in Delia, the son of Ludvig S. and Ella L. Keller Thompson. He graduated from Delia High School in 1937 and attended Stricklers Business College in Topeka. He was employed as a statistical clerk for the Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center for 30 years before retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Survivors include one brother, Samuel M. Thompson of Rossville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he was very fond of. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Delia Cemetery. Eugene will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Delia Cemetery c/o John Nitsch, 610 Washington, Delia, KS 66418.
