Rose Eleanor Trahoon, 83, Topeka, died Sunday, August 17, 2003, at Manor Care Health Services, Topeka.
She was born October 20, 1919, in Louisville, the daughter of Daniel and Bessie Kohler McCoy.
She had lived in Wamego and San Francisco, CA, before moving to Topeka in 1952. She graduated from Wamego High School in 1937. She worked in the ship yards in San Francisco and for Pacific Bell as a switchboard operator, and for Hill's Pet Food for 34 years as a switchboard operator and receptionist.
She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Ladies of the Moose, Eagles, Switchboard Club, and Ladies of the Shrine.
She married Floyd L. "Red" Trahoon, May 3, 1964, in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include two stepdaughters, Susan C. Gaggero and Janice Ables, both of Topeka; two stepsons, Steven Trahoon, and Floyd Trahoon, Jr., both of Topeka; a sister, Thelma Berry, Topeka; three step grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Her service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
