| Obituary- Uhl, George 2 George F. Uhl
George Finney Uhl, 70, a retired farmer and dairyman, died last Tuesday in a local hospital after a long illness. He lived at 2102 Meriden Road, Topeka.
Mr. Uhl lived in Shawnee County since he was 19 years old, except for 15 years operating a farm near Grantville in Jefferson County. He retired five years ago.
He came to Silver Lake in 1921 from Millsburg, Ohio, where he was born December 17, 1891. He was a World War I veteran and a member of the Methodist Church.
He was married to Tressie Kratina of Rossville in 1919.
Survivors include his widow at home; two sons, John Uhl of Holton, Gerald Uhl of Perry; two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Kendall and Mrs. Helen Mongold, both of Grantville; five sisters, Mrs. Bernice Ping, Mrs. Florence Mongold, Mrs. Jeanette Hardee of Topeka, Mrs. Jennie Poole of Tecumseh and Mrs. Lois Prickett of Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Floyd of Topeka, Arch D. of Wakarusa, and Harold Uhl of Oak Grove, Mo.
Services were held Saturday in Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary at 11:00 a.m. Burial was in Prairie Home Cemetery northwest of Topeka.
