    Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Van Vleck will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary New Years day at their home, 188 Holman, Topeka, Kansas.

    Arthur Van Vleck and Mary Wax were united in marriage in Rossville by the Rev. Talmage January 1, 1906.

    They both grew up in the Rossville community and made this their home until they moved to Topeka thirty-seven years ago. They have four children, Irving, Homer, Mrs. Ethel McGrew and Mrs. Helen Murphy, all of Topeka. Eight grand-children and three great grand-children, all will be home except two grand-daughters, one with her husband and two children is in Germany and the other and her husband is in San Diego, Calif.

    No invitations have been sent but Mr. and Mrs. Van Vleck will have open house at their home from two to five New Years Day.

    Arthur Van Vleck dies at age 80
    Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Parker Mortuary in Topeka for Arthur I. Van Vleck, 80, who died Monday at his home, 188 Holman, Topeka.
    He was a former operŽator of Topeka streetcars, retiring when buses reŽplaced the older vehicles.
    Born near Rossville Aug. 26, 1881, Mr. Van Vleck lived in Topeka since 1918. He was a member of the First Methodist Church.
    Survivors include two sons, Irving at home, and Homer of Prairie Village; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel O. McGrew and Mrs. Helen L. Murphy, Topeka; three brothers, Clarence of TopŽeka, Harry of Kansas City, Kansas, and Mahlin of KanŽsas City, Mo., and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
    Burial was in Rossville Cemetery, with the Parker Mortuary in charge.
