    BERT VAN VLECK DEAD
    Word came to Rossville today of the death of Bert Van Vleck at 8:40 this morning. Rossville relatives had been at his bedside since the latter part of the week with his condition growing steadily more serious. As we go to press no funeral arrange¬ments had been announced.


    HERBERT EUGENE VAN VLECK
    The body of Bert Van Vleck, who died early Thursday, July 11, at his home in Topeka, was brought to Rossville cemetery Saturday afternoon, July 13, for burial.
    The funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Third Presbyterian church, Topeka, conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Mr. Ireland
    Mr. Van Vleck, while a resident of Topeka for the past 25 years, had al¬ways looked upon Rossville as his old home town, in the vicinity of which he spent his early life, and received his schooling. He came to Rossville in 1881 from Gardner, Ill., where he was born on May 1, 1878. At the date of his death, July 11, he was 51 years, 2 months and 11 days old.
    Mr. Van Vleck was one of the lead¬ing interior decorators in Topeka. He was a member of the Odd Fel¬low and S.B.A. lodges.
    He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Grace Bradford, Mrs. Eve Mann Ella May, Marvin and Harold Van Vleck, all of Topeka; and Mrs. Eva Bradford of California; sisters, Mrs. Mabel Strimple, Lawrence and Mrs. Georgia Lambert, Silver Lake; brother, Wm. Shipley, San Bernardino, Calif.; and his mother and stepfather Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Shipley, of Ross¬ville.
