| Obituary- Van Vleck, Walter Walter Van Vleck Died Last Thursday
Walter L. Van Vleck died at 5:30 p.m. last Thursday at the tuberculosis camp southeast of Topeka, where he had been taken for his health a few months previous. Mr. Van Vleck had never recovered his health after an attack of the Flu a few years ago.
He was born in Rossville, July 27, 1889, being just past his 82nd birthday when his death occurred and had lived here all his life. Beside his widow, Mrs. Bessie Van Vleck, he is survived by five children, Gladys, Walter, Frank, Marvin and Omer; his father, Frank Van Vleck, a sister, Mrs. J.C. Reser of Manhattan, five brothers, A.I., C.E., and Henry of Topeka. Mahlon Van Vleck of Kansas City and Harry of Rossville.
The funeral service was held from the Rossville Methodist church conducted by Rev. Saterlee of the Lowman Hill church, Topeka, Sunday afternoon, Aug. 21. Interment was made in Rossville cemetery.
