    Catherine VandeWiele

    ST. MARYS -- Mrs. Catherine C. VandeWiele, 76, St. Marys, died here Tuesday in a rest home where she had been about 18 months.

    She was born Jan. 12, 1899, at Delia and lived at St. Marys since 1922. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at St. Marys and the auxiliary of Wamego Post No. 172 of the American Legion.

    She was married to Valere VandeWiele, Oct. 25, 1922 at Delia. He survives. A son, Bernard VandeWiele, died May 26, 1973.

    Other survivors include a son, Francis VandeWiele, Alexandria, Va.; seven daughters, Mrs. Agnes Bright, Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Helen Tucker, Kansas City, Mrs. Lucille Barraclough, 5613 W. 15th, Mrs. Clara Pinick, Belvue, Mrs. Margaret Pollex, Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Rita Harbolt and Mrs. Virginia Joyce, both of St. Marys; two brothers, Raymond Grace, Emmett, and Richard Grace, Wamego; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Kennedy, 415 Emmett, Topeka, 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at St. Marys. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys.
