  Obituary- Viergever, Bertha Miss Bertha Viergiver [sic] Passed Away Monday The sad news was received Tuesday, of the death of Miss Bertha Viergiver which occured Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the home of relatives in Jewell City, Kansas. The body was brought to Willard yesterday and the funeral held today. Miss Viergiver gave up her position as teacher in the second room early this spring and underwent an operation shortly after in a Topeka hospital hut, no hope was held out for her recovery. She was suffering with a cancer and the disease had made too great inroad in her system before treatment was started. Miss Viergiver was very popular with her pupils and was greatly admired by her Rossville acquaintances, and her death produced a genuine wave of sadness. Throughout her illness she had continued cheerful and enjoyed having her friends call on her.
