ROSSVILLE — Lula L. Viergever, 89, Rossville, died Thursday, Dec. 13,2001, at a Rossville nursing home.
She was born July 19,1912, in Manhattan, the daughter of David E. and Laura Biddle Simmons. She lived most of her life in Topeka.
Mrs. Viergever was a member of Willard Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday school and served as Bible school superintendent.
She married Andy J. Viergever on March 10, 1931, in Topeka. He died March 18,1996. Mrs. Viergever also was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Viergever, on Oct. 31,1963; a son, Glen M. Viergever, on Aug. 4,1993; and a grandson, Rodney Lynn Viergever, on Oct. 9,1966.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Viergever, Rossville, and Rose Marie Anderson, Auburn; five sons, Don Viergever, Auburn, Tony Viergever, Grove, Okla., Larry Viergever, Sarasota, Fla., David Viergever, Morton, III., and Darrell Viergever, Mayetta; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Parker- Price Mortuary in Topeka. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery at Dover. Mrs. Viergever will lie in state after 1 p.m. today at the mortuary, where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
