    James L. Welch
    James Lavern Welch, 65, Republic, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at his home.

    He was born June 18, 1939, in Topeka, the son of Verne L. and Edna Mileham Welch.

    James grew up in Rossville and graduated from Rossville High School in 1957. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on January 9, 1959 and served with the U.S. Navy until he was honorable discharged on December 11, 1962. While in the U.S. Navy he learned the machinist trade and worked in that occupation for many years.

    He was preceded in death by his parents.

    Survivors include two daughters, Monica Welch, Leavenworth, WA, and Clare Welch, Lincoln, NE; ex- wife, Judith Moylan Welch, Aurora, NE.

    A graveside inurnment service with military honors will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth.

    Arrangements are under the direction of Bachelor-Daulkner-Dart- Surber Funeral Home, Belleville.
