Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Whearty will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Saturday, December 28, in the Rossville Community Center. No invitations will be issued but they invite all their friends and relatives to the reception from 2 to 4 p. m.
Mr. and Mrs. Whearty were married December 25. 1907 at the home of Rev. Gordon in Topeka. They have lived all their lives in this community where Mr. Whearty was engaged in farming until he retired in 1954 and moved to Rossville. They have six children, Galen. Everett and Ruth of Wichita, Calvin of Topeka. Riley of Houghton Michigan, and Lester of Manlius, N.Y. There are eleven grandchildren. All. the children plan to attend the anniversary celebration.

Everett J. Whearty, 73, Wichita, formerly of Rossville, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1993, at a Wichita nursing home.
Mr. Whearty was a retired planner for Beech Aircraft. He was a veteran of World War II.
He was born March 15, 1919, at Rossville, the son of Martin L. and Ella Johnson Whearty.
Mr. Whearty was a member of Bestor G. Brown Lodge No. 433, AF&AM, Wichita Consistory of Scottish Rite and Midian Shrine.
His wife, Helen P. LaFlumboise Whearty, survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Marsha Bustin, Encino, Calif.; two sons, Marty Whearty, Lindsborg, and Jeff Whearty, Wichita; two step-daughters, Carolyn Bandy, Big Springs, Texas, and Janie McEwen, Wichita; a stepson, David Young, Arlington, Texas; a sister, Ruth McGlothlin, Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Galen Whearty, Wichita, and Lester Whearty, Sun City West, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and nine stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Hillside Funeral Home Chapel in Wichita. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery at Wichita.
