    Anthony Vern Armstrong
    ROSSVILLE — Anthony Vern Armstrong, 12, Rossville, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 1996, at a Topeka hospital.

    He was born Oct. 26,1983, at Stillwater, Okla. He had lived at Rossville the past 10 years and attended school in Rossville, where he was a member of the junior high school football team.

    Armstrong was a member of Rossville Christian Church and the Rossville Little League Baseball team.

    Survivors include his parents, Phil D. and Jaimi C. Armstrong Olson, Rossville; a brother, Philip Olson, Rossville; three sisters, Jennell Olson, Phoenix, and Tiffany Irwin and Kristen Olson, both of Rossville; grandparents, Darryl and Margie Olson, Anita Armstrong and Vern and Cynthia Armstrong, all of Rossville; and great-grandparents, Tina Ortega, Phoenix, Erma Gail Riley, Holton, and Janet Marx, Rossville.

    Boy dies at football practice— A 12-year-old Rossville boy died Thursday evening after suffering an asthma attack at a junior high football practice.
    Anthony Vern Armstrong collapsed at about 6 p.m. on a football field at the elementary school in Rossville. Anthony had no pulse and wasn’t breathing when medical personnel arrived.

    Anthony was flown by Life Star helicopter to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Topeka, where he was pronounced dead.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rossville Christian Church. Burial will be at the Rossville Cemetery. His obituary appears on Page 8-A.
