    CHARLES S. WOOD

    Services were at 2 p.m. Monday in the Baptist Church at Silver Lake for Charles S. Wood, 83, Rossville, who died Friday, September 9, 1977, in a St. Marys rest home where he had been more than two years.

    He was born June 26, 1894, at-Silver Lake and spent most of his life in the Silver Lake and Rossville communities.

    Mr. Wood was a mechanic before he retired in 1955. He had worked for the Topeka Supply Depot and at the Mahon Service Station at Silver Lake. He also had been employed by Minor Oil in Silver Lake as a truck driver.

    Survivors include two brothers, Ira Wood, Topeka, and Byron Wood, Denver, Colo.; and a sister, Mrs. Clara Mack, Hinkley, Calif.

    Burial was in Silver Lake Cemetery. Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys was in charge of arrangements.

    Casket bearers were all nephews, Stephen Wood, Bob Foster, Stanley Smith, Jim Jones, Lester Lutz, Roy Corber.
