    John Williams
    John O. Williams, 72, Wamego, died Monday in a Topeka hospital where he was admitted Jan. 8 and underwent abdominal surgery Jan. 19.

    He was born Sept. 10, 1900, at Kansas City, Kan., and spent most of his life in Kansas City, Kan., before he moved to Delia in 1963. He moved to Wamego nine months ago. He was a truck driver before he retired.

    He was married to Myrtle Hale June 9, 1927, at Kansas City, Kan. She survives.

    Other survivors include a son, Benton W. Williams, Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Mrs. Janise Stenger, Wamego, and Mrs. Marguerite Green, Richmond, Mo.; a brother, Edward Williams, Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Hale, Kansas City, Kan., and Mrs. Clara Hogeland, Overland Park; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at St. Marys. Graveside services will be at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at Highland Park Cemetery at Kansas City, Kan. A wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys.

    John O. Williams, 72, Wamego, died January 29 in a Topeka hospital where he was admitted January 8. He underwent abdominal surgery January 19.

    He was born September 10, 1900, in Kansas City, Ks. On June 9, 1927, he married Myrtle Hale in Kansas City, Ks. They lived in Kansas City, Ks. until 1963 when they moved to Delia. Nine months ago, they moved to Wamego. Mr. Williams was a retired truck driver.

    Survivors include his wife, Myrtle, of the home; one son, Benton O. Williams, Kansas City, Ks.; two daughters, Mrs. Janise Stenger, Wamego, and Mrs. Marguerite Green, Richmond, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward Williams, Kansas City, Ks.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Hale, Kansas City, Ks., and Mrs. Clara Hogeland, Overland Park.

    A wake service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:30 in the Verschelden Chapel. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys. Graveside services will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Ks., at 1:15 p.m. Thursday.
