| Birthday- Clark, Clarence Clarence Clark, Rossville, was 80 years on October 1. He was born and reared in Paxico. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Clark. On March 8, 1919 he was married to Elizabeth Busch. The couple lived in the Paxico community about 10 years, then moved to the Maple Hill community. In 1940, they moved to Rossville. Mr. Clark was a farmer. They left the farm in 1949, and moved into town where Mr. Clark was employed by Shawnee County until he retired in 1961.
They are the parents of four children -- Floyd Clark, Eskridge; Richard Clark, Topeka; Marguerite Theis, Manhattan; and Donald Clark, who is deceased. They thoroughly enjoy their nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The families got together on Sunday, October 3, at the Rossville Community Center to enjoy a noon dinner and fellowship. Grandpa Clark received many useful gifts from his family and shared his birthday cakes and homemade ice cream with everyone.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clark, Rossville, (seated) pose with their son, Floyd Clark of Eskridge, and his two sons, Allen (center) and Steve. Allen's son, Monte, is pictured between his great-grandparents, and Steve's son, Billie, is on his great-granddad's knee. This is a "double four generation" photo. |
