Mr. and Mrs. Russell W. Cox will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, Sunday, December 22, with a reception in the Kansas National Guard Armory at Holton.
Hosts for the reception will be their children: Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Cox, Rossville; Mr. and Mrs. John E. Houck, Galt, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Uhler, Osage City.
Friends and relatives are invited to call between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.
Mr. and Mrs. Cox were married December 17, 1924 in Holton and have lived in the Emmett, Delia and Mayetta communities during their married life.

Robert and Agnes Cox, Maple Hill, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a summer trip to Branson, MO, where they will vacation and celebrate with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert Cox and Agnes Stum were married February 6,1951, in Topeka. The first few years of their marriage they lived in the Delia and Rossville communities before they moved to Manhattan, where they both retired from Kansas State University. They have lived in Maple Hill for three years.
Their two children and spouses are Juanita and Gabriel Escobar, Ft Smith, AR, and Ronald and Susan Cox, Hendersonville, NC. Robert and Agnes have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Cox to celebrate 80th birthday
Robert Cox will celebrate his 80th birthday on Nov. 1 with a card shower.
He and his wife Agnes of 58 years have two children Juanita Gabriel Escobar and Ronald (Susan) Cox, four grandchildren, two-great grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.
Robert retired from Kansas State University, Department of Housing in 1992.

TOPEKA- Robert Eugene Cox, 92, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
Robert was born on November 1, 1929, to Russell W. and Lela A. (Ward) Cox at Emmett. He graduated from Delia High School in 1947 and served in the U.S. Army from 1947 until 1953. During his service in 1951, he married Agnes M. (Stum) Cox. He went to work for Goodyear, Wentz Equipment Co., and Kansas State University before retiring from the latter after 25 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Delia and the Sertoma Club in Manhattan.
Robert is remembered by his wife, Agnes of Topeka, his sisters, Marjorie (John) Houck, Galt, CA., and Carol Uhler, Fort Scott; his children, Juanita M. (Gabriel) Escobar, Topeka, and Ronald E. (Susan) Cox Hendersonville, NC; his four grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Phyllis Lundin.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Piper Funeral Home at St. Marys. Interment will be in the Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Cox will lie in state, and the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the funeral home.
